Harry/Neville....Never Too Old For Santa

Pairing: Neville/Harry
Warnings; implied misuse and abuse of Santa and an elfs costume
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 303

Disclaimer: The characters herein are not my property nor are they my creation. That honor belongs to the talented if inconsitant JKR. I am just playing with them and no copyright infringement is intended.

Summary: Neville and Harry find fringe benefits to playing Santa...

He wasn't a pervert, no matter what that last mother must think. Merlin knew it wasn't her little sprog that had him squirming in his trousers. Quite the contrary, it had been the seemingly never ending parade of kids that kept him at half mast.

But now they were gone and his problem had swollen in accordance. Of course, that spectacular arse encased in tights didn't help, or hurt. One of the more enjoyable fringe benefits of playing Santa was getting an elf of his own.

"They seemed to have a good time."

"Wha? Oh yeah. What about you? Did you ever get to visit Father Christmas?"

"No. Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia never took me."

Using one hand to cast a privacy charm the erstwhile Santa used his other to free his engorged cock from his flies.

"It's not too late. You're never too old to climb onto Santa's lap? Are you?

**************

It wasn't bad enough he got all of the grunt work in the Ministry during the year, he had to clean up after the orphan's Christmas party as well. Grinding his teeth, he made a vow that this would be the last time. He would speak to Kingsley. A Malfoy deserved better than this. And Longbottom and Potter couldn't be even bothered to do a good job of picking up after themselves, though it was certain they would say the tried. But here was a rag left on the floor. Examining it more closely, Draco noticed the gaping hole torn in the seat of what proved to be a pair of yellow tights.

Maybe that promotion could include being Santa's elf next year?

Christmas Wish List.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your IJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your IJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not — it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My 10 holiday wishes:

1) That everyone I know on my F-list and in real life has a safe, healthy and happy holiday.

2) That those on my flist who are sick or in need of a job, assistance etc...will get what they need in the coming year

3) True acceptance from my parents of my nephew's sexuality and the understanding that being gay is just a small part of who and what he is (which is a wonderful, loving, intelligent, and funny young man).

4) A working laptop.

5) A better year and economy (and a better paying job for me wouldn't hurt as long as I don't have to be unemployed before I get it).

6) More Henry Cavill goodness.

7) Fic...as in Top Oliver/Bottom Colin (or Dennis..preferably Dennis...au where Colin lives preferably),,,,the raunchy and smuttier the better

8) Ron/Neville fic (Top Ron, Bottom Neville...see above for raunchiness).

9) Donations to Breast Cancer or Aids Research

10) The Harry/Neville fic I would love to see wherein Harry is an auror who deliberatly gets himself assigned to protect Neville when it appears the remaining and at large Lestrange is targetting Neville and comes to realize that the reason he is so protective of Neville is that he loves him...again the smuttier the end the better...Top Harry/Bottom Neville please.

Also, if you have posted one on your journal, please give me a link. *smiles nicely
*

AND she was only 6 years older than Henry.. The way the producers cast (or photograph) the actress who plays her, Catherine comes off as being old enough to be Henry's mother. And she's taller than him and dark.

The other historical inaccuracies that I can get over/live with?

In no particular order (and these are just a few of them that I can recall off the top of my head)

1. Henry's sister married the King of France, not the King of Portugal
2. The Duke of Suffolk (whom Henry Cavill plays) was married or precontracted to be married twice (at least) prior to marrying the sister of the King
3. There is no historical indication or implication that she (Mary, the sister) murdered the King of France
4. The action takes place at Whitehall prior to the marriage to Anne B. It was with the Marriage to Anne B that Henry made Whitehall a residence
5. The joust where Henry got clobbered with his visor up took place with the Duke of Suffolk, not another as portrayed in the series
6. The Duke of Suffolk did not propose to Mary...she tricked him into marriage by claiming to be pregnant.
7. Nor were the happy couple banished from court.
8. Not did she die of TB as implied here...
9. Henry did not challenge the King of France to wrestle with him, it was the other way around
and so on and so on...

But, if season two gives us more nekkid Henry Cavill (the man has an arse that would make anyone melt and a chest to die for)...I am there....

As of this morning the laptop died....kind of.

The power comes on, the drives and such seem to be working it is just the monitor. I told IT guy at work and Computer savvy Uncle and Cousins about issue (screen flickers then went black and, prior to this morning, when I would reboot it would come back up). They said it sounded like there was short to the monitor/screen.

So, if all goes well Tuesday and I don' have to worry about surgical expenses or Chemo (remember I think the worst), I will take it in and see if it can be fixed on Weds or Thursday.

Until then (or until it is fixed or we can replace it, but money is tight with building a house). I will most likely get to check in on Saturday afteroons and maybe a couple of times in the morning in the week when I can borrow a friend's laptop.

Really hope to do so, and am planning on it, next week as I might get a Kingsley/Neville and a Charlie/Neville for my Birthday.

But, all that is minor stuff...

The major stuff is one of my Flist losing her Dad (my heart and prayers go to her), and worrying about what Dr will find Tuesday...

So say prayers for AuntBijou and keep her and her family in her thoughts, and if you could do the same for me and my health issues...

Love you all.

Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add shallots, garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until shallots are translucent, about 3 minutes. Stir in 1 cup stock. Whisk remaining 1/2 cup stock into the flour in a small bowl. Whisk into shallot mixture. Bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Reduce to a simmer. Cook 5 minutes, whisking occasionally.

Add carrots and celery. Bring to a boil. Stir in chicken. Return to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in chopped parsley and tarragon. Let cool. Stir in peas. Transfer to a 2-quart (8 1/2-by-12-inch) baking dish.

Brush 1 sheet of phyllo with melted butter. Sprinkle with parsley leaves. Repeat with remaining phyllo, parsley, and butter; do not sprinkle parsley on final layer. (Keep unbuttered phyllo covered with plastic wrap and a damp kitchen towel.) Drape crust over cooled filling; tuck in edges. Cut four 4-inch slits in crust for vents. Sprinkle with sea salt, if desired.

Bake until crust is golden brown and juices are bubbling, about 30 minutes. Remove from oven, and recut vents. Serve immediately in shallow bowls.

Poached Chicken

Makes enough for 1 pot pie

1 whole chicken (about 4 pounds), cut into 8 pieces

2 celery stalks, cut into 4-inch pieces

2 medium carrots, peeled and cut into 4-inch pieces

1 medium onion, quartered

6 sprigs fresh flat-leaf parsley

1/4 teaspoon whole black peppercorns

2 cans (14 ounces each) low-sodium store-bought chicken broth

1 teaspoon coarse salt

Directions

Place chicken in a large stockpot. Add remaining ingredients and enough water to cover chicken. Bring to a boil over high heat. Skim off any foam; discard. Reduce heat to low; simmer until chicken has just cooked through, about 25 minutes.

Transfer chicken to a plate, and let cool slightly. Pour stock through a fine sieve into a bowl; discard solids. Set aside 11/2 cups stock for potpie; reserve remaining stock for another use. Remove skin from chicken; discard. Remove meat from bones, and tear into bite-size pieces. (You should have about 4 cups.) Refrigerate, covered, until ready to use, up to 2 days.

Chocolate Pudding Cake

Ingredients

Serves 6

Butter, room temperature, for baking dish

1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus more for baking dish

6 large eggs, room temperature, separated

6 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted

1/2 teaspoon salt

Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and set a kettle of water to boil. Butter a shallow 2-quart baking dish; coat with granulated sugar, tapping out excess.

In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks with granulated sugar until lightened in color. Whisk in melted chocolate; set aside.

In a large, clean bowl, using an electric mixer on high, beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form. Whisk 1/3 of whites into chocolate mixture. Add remaining whites, and gently fold with a rubber spatula just until combined (do not overmix).

Transfer batter to prepared baking dish. Set dish in a roasting pan, and pour enough boiling water into pan to come about 1 inch up side of dish. Bake until puffed and just set (center of cake should barely move when jiggled), 25 to 35 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes; dust with confectioners' sugar just before serving.

My name is 'x' and I'm gay", but still The Grandparents (my parents) have laid off too. I think (reading between the lines from talking to them) the are trying a bit of reverse psychology and such (as in if we don't make a big deal about it he'll go back to being normal). So we shall see how long that little cease fire lasts.

About Christ, and racism...

Does it baffle anyone else how all these neo-nazi's and racists and such who hate blacks but call themselves "Christian" never stop to think about Christ's skin color. Look at where he lived. The Middle East. Not a whole lot of indiginous fair skinned blue eyed people there. And, according to the Bible, he walked among them as one of them. Uh, you think a blue-eyed blond would be able to do that?

Not likely. Odds are he was dark skinned etc... But of course they will never accept that.

On a completely different and frivilous topic...

About sexy men...

As much as I squee about Dan (sometimes, the times I don't think he is fugly) Matt, and Alfie (and yes I probably will renege on my vow and go see HBP just to drool over the last two in their brief allotments of screen time), I don't find younger men that attractive, never have. Even as a tween and teen I thought men (and women) didnt' become interesting (to look at or to talk to) until they hit their thirties at least. That may be why (as he is now getting older) that I am starting to find Robert Downey Jr. sexy. And why pics of my Jimmie (James Marsden) taken when he was a teen and in early 20's, don't do it for me... Ditto for Christian Bale. I loved him in Little Women but he didn't seem sexy to me till he got a few lines and such on his face....

Probably this weekend, I'll do a longer post with more specifics about wedding and Yellowstone, but not right now. Right now, I need to get caught up with f-list...

Anyone write and Charlie/Neville, Oliver/Neville, Neville/Colin, Ron/Colin or Oliver/Dennis while I was gone.... And why does no one write Ron cross gen....why is Harry the only one who gets to love on Scorpious etc?

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to vote (much less write anything).

Last night, as we were charging up cell phone, TehRock suggested we send an e-mail to our respective parental units just letting them know we were alive and well and enjoying ourselves. After we did so, he went to take a shower and I, of course, surfed a bit.

While looking to see if there were any new Neville fics, I stumbled across the posts of a friend of a friend. Honestly, this woman (not my friend but another woman) is an idiot. She obviously only gets her information from Fox News etc...

She had the audacity to complain that people would not let her post her political opinions in 'silent disagreement' they did not agree with her but instead were commenting on her LJ.

Uh, maybe it had something to do with her language. Her posts are inflamatory in they way they are worded as they are stated in such away that she all but says bald face that if you vote for Obama you are a commie, socialist, terrorist, anti-American arse.

She repeatedly states that Obama is a terrorist or hangs out with them. Uh, get your facts straight woman.

1. Obama was 8 years old at the time. Most people are able to grasp that. If you associated with ex or neo Nazi sympathizers at that age from living in Germany or such, would we condemn you for it (not that she did, just a hypothetical). Not likely. I know people whose' parents or Grandparents sympathized or belonged to the KKK and they don't hold the same beliefs even though they were exposed to it as children.

2. The party in question was never convicted, in fact the case was thrown out, and the prosecution did not attempt to try it again because of the dubious/flimsy evidence

3. No lives were taken in any of the bombings and such that were purported to be the acts of this man/group

4. In his statement that 'he wished he could have done more' the GOP and McCain/Palin left off the rest ot the sentence which was...." to protest the Vietnam War." NOT to kill people etc...

And, this reactionary posing as an elightened person, then went on to harass any of her f-list for wanting to vote for Obama (or against McCain/Palin) because of the issue of "Pro Choice" She states she's heard that arguement for 20 years and it has never been a threat. She elaborates that she had her tubes tied and no one tried to stop her.

Someone really needs to tell the bint that "Pro Choice" is about abortion, not having your tubes tied. And maybe someone should suggest that until she knows more the Sarah Palin (which wouldn't take much, but at least Palin knows Roe Vs. Wade was about abortion not birth control), that she should keep her mouth shut or risk exposing herself as the political idiot she is.

PLEASE NOTE, if you are voting for McCain etc...I have no issue with you, that is your choice. My issue is with people who only get or publicize part of the story and twist facts to support their own agenda. Get your news, data from a number of sources in different viewpoints. That way you have some knowledge of all sides, and you can think and make up your mind for yourself. it is rather obvious that the woman in question is not doing that, or doesn't care to.

Rant over (but where is TheRock with our french toast and cocoa?).

In happier areas...

Yellowstone is gorgeous in the fall, we even made it up to Glacier National Park for a day, and now are slowly making our way home. Ran out of film for pics for Glacier but TehRock got plenty of Yellowstone (we really need to get a digital camera...and a working scanner....maybe for Christmas?)
Just a fly by post, while the husband is taking car to be gassed up, clean windshield, get provisions (and directions)

Yes, I can say 'the Husband' now. FYI, P is no longer to be known as P but henceforth as "TheRock" as in "My Rock'.

Okay...

Wedding went off almost without a hitch. Just minor stuff, mostly amusing. Like the flower boy picked up the petals the flower girl dropped. His Mom and Dad trained him well not to leave a mess.

One of my second cousins took it upon herself to bleach the blue tablecloths (as we wanted had planned on white). This did not work out so well, On the other hand, maybe it did. They were actually rather pretty in a way with an abstract white pattern on the now light blue.

And TehRock's Grandmother used that in her toast, stating that life and marriage were like that, sometimes the things you didn't plan on happened but if you could find the beauty in them together, you were more than halfway there.

What else? My Dad cried during the wedding, Mom cried as we were leaving.

My flowers were white tulip's my Missouri Aunt had grown and forced herself

Music was a locat string quartet

Location was a new (and therefore unused to that point) barn. Wood floors, weathered wood on walls and roof. Missouri Aunt and Uncle built it for enteratining purposes as when they host Thanksgiving and Christmas for all relatives it adds up to more than 40 people.. No electricity yet in it, so candles in Hurricane lanterns everywhere. It was really pretty if spare (but I like that), just the wood, wood tables, white crockery, wine glasses, white flowers and the abstract art tablecloths.

Dinner was grilled leg of lamb, grilled chicken or grilled roast tenderloin, polenta (which my Uncles called "grits"), grilled veggies, homemade breads, and wedding pie. I can't tell you how many eyebrows that last one raised. But everyone enjoyed it.

I'm so glad we didn't do the formal placement or dancing thing. It gave us a real chance to not only eat (for me the first time that day) but also to visit with family. I had kids climbing on my lap, eating with me, laughing with "Ditto Rush's" younger brother (much more enlightened), and I can honestly say we are one of those bridal couples that had a good time at our own wedding.

I only got teary eyed once. and that was at my Great Aunt's toast (she is 93). Her toast was to Tehrock...."We've watched Dee grow up and come to be able to take care of herself and we're grateful for that. But we're even more grateful that she doesn' have to, now that she's found you."

Everybody was still gabbing and such when it was time for us to leave. We spent wedding night near one of the Lakes of the Ozarks (about an hour from Aunt's).

Then yesterday we headed north. We will make Yellowstone today. One more glitch..I can't find my watch. I had it on Friday, so I am guessing I left it at Aunt's. Oh well, such is life.

DRARRY FLUFF....Beta needed...

Okay you all, before I forget...

Early this summer, during one of my many bouts with Sinus Infections I wrote 2 fics. One a Drarry and one Neville/Colin.

Both are Holiday themed, as in Christmas (which is why I didn't do this earlier).

But when we get back (around Halloween) I will transpose them from longhand (assuming I can decipher my own writing, not a given) to MS Word. At that point I'd like a Beta (mainly for grammer and punctuation). Nothing explicit, it's all implied, just some saucy language by the characters (in both fics). And would love a suggestion for the title of the Neville/Colin fic (in my world he was just injured but recovered).

Any takers?

In RL...P is off with my cousins (Lord, help him. I will so owe him for this), doing the backwoods country boy thing...

The current sinus infection seems to be clearing up, knock wood.

Now for the rehearsal dinner tomorrow and then...

Only minor glitches, P had to buy razor as he forgot his, which worked out fine cause I forgot my toothbrush. Didn't get around to getting my hair cut like I wanted, tablecloths are light blue, not white.... Nothing major (thus far)

But so help me, if neatherdal cousin (he only listens to Rush or Fox news does not read or allow any other source of information) makes another comment about me being the oldest living first time bride, I'm gonna take him down. I can do it to. P already wants to slug him for other comments....

Other than that, no drama so far, everyone is being on their best behaviour, even Mom and Dad and Missouri relatives are not making any comments or implying anything about nephew. That may have to do with my putting my foot down and telling Mom and Dad off.

Mainly I told them they were liars if they said they accepted nephew and then tried to get him to change who he is. That by worrying about whose 'fault it was that he turned out this way' was disgusting. Fault implies not only blame but that there is something wrong. I told them that if they really loved nephew they would support him and act as a safe harbor from the world, not add to the persecution some of the world wants to inflict on him (I was on my soap box, what can I say?).

I added that if they wanted to pray in private for a change that was their business, and their right, but they needed to keep their critical mouths shut. For good measure I pointed out that both Mom and Dad don't believe in 'creationism' but in evolution but believe evolution was part of God's plan. In other words they are not strict literalist in their interpreration of the bible. I mentioned that the passages about sodomy, masturbation and such might have been written and implemented out of expediancy given the life expectancy and the mortality rate of infants back then. Now 'spilling one's seed' instead of adding to an already overly populated world might be the right plan.

But then I'm the girl who got caned by the nuns in parochial school by asking where humanity came from. I pointed out to the nuns that if Cain and Able were Adam and Eve's only children and one killed the other, what happened to the human race? And even if they both lived, how would they procreate, with Eve? You can imagine the reaction to that.

Not quite but it will be foreshortened.

Due to issues with family (and needing to get nephew settled and such), P and I have decided to shorten Honeymoon.

We will still be going to Yellowstone but skipping Mr Rushmore, Badlands and other things. Mainly because my parents (it seems according to nephew) are still pushing him to get into therapy. While that is not a bad idea per se, it should be therapy that gets helps him deal with the issues the world forces him to face due to intolerance and not be an attempt to change him from what he naturally is.

Which is a loving, intelligent (he tests as 'gifted), sweet natured, genuinely good person who happens also to be gay.

So because P remembers what it was like when his Grandmother and her partner 'went public' he brought up the idea of skipping Mt Rushmore etc...

Once I was sure that he would not resent this in the future, we talked about it some more and agreed. Besides, I have my own rock in him, don't need a hunk of granite.

So P and that (nephew) are taking precedence over all else, so if I post more about nephew (and vent) more than is interesting, please feel free to skip (I'm sure most do anyway).

I love my parents but I wish they'd get a grip on reality and lose the judgemental attitude that being Gay makes you a sinner. We're all sinners, being Gay doesn't make you a worse or bigger one.
